He may not have met with huge success with in last stab at an iconic character (Green Lantern), but that isn’t deterring Ryan Reynolds from considering another. The actor is in talks to take on the lead in Summit Entertainment’s Highlander reboot.
With Intruders’ Juan Carlos Fresnadillo calling the shots from Art Macum and Matt Holloway’s script, the new version of the 1986 fantasy action classic is being kept largely under wraps, though naturally there will be immortal types fighting to behead one another because there can, after all, be only one.
Reynolds, who has the success of the recent Safe Hous****e as a card to play in negotiations, is nowhere near locked in according to Variety: he’s only in early discussions about the role and has a variety of other jobs under consideration, not to mention a legion of Deadpool fans who are getting increasingly frustrated at the slow progress of the Marvel character’s stand-alone film. Reynolds will be heard in two DreamWorks ‘toons, The Croods and Turbo, and will be on screen alongside Jeff Bridges in R.I.P.D., all of which hit next year.
