Deadpool 2

Having cancelled arm surgery to fly over to China and help launch the trimmed version of Deadpool 2 for audiences in that country, Ryan Reynolds also took a moment to address development on a potential third film in the series, which had seemingly been up in the air with the pending Disney/Fox deal.

According to the producer/writer/actor, however, work is still in progress on Deadpool 3, even if we're inclined to take anything the wise-cracking Reynolds says regarding the character with enough salt to grit several streets' worth of pavements on a snowy day. "We're looking to go in a completely different direction," he said, adding, "often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late."

He made no mention of the other potential Deadpool-starring follow-up, an X-Force movie, but we're sure that's also still being planned. As for Deadpool 2's arrival in China, with the version screened here as Once Upon A Deadpool before Christmas representing a clean enough cut to pass the notoriously tough censors in that country, it's going by the name Deadpool 2: I love My Family. Which is a riff on a classic Chinese TV series, a nod we feel Wade Wilson would approve. Deadpool 3 will be out... when it's good and ready.
