What do you get when you take the quick wit of Ryan Reynolds, the writing style of Deadpool's Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and the pyrotechnic tendencies of Michael Bay, throw them in a giant cine-food processor and hit blend? Netflix's answer is new action pic 6 Underground, which has its first trailer online.
This first footage doesn't exactly elaborate much on the concept, so here, for your edification, is the official synopsis: "Six individuals from all around the globe, each the very best at what they do, have been chosen not only for their skill, but for a unique desire to delete their pasts to change the future. The team is brought together by an enigmatic leader (Reynolds), whose sole mission in life is to ensure that, while he and his fellow operatives will never be remembered, their actions damn sure will."
Ben Hardy, Mélanie Laurent, Adria Arjona, Dave Franco and Corey Hawkins are among the cast for the movie, which finds Bay leaning into his trademark fast-cars-big-booms aesthetic. We'll find out if the mix is an explosive success or a damp squib when the film arrives on the streaming service on 13 December.
