They already have one film together under their belts – car thriller Drive – and another bubbling in development with Logan’s Run, but it looks like actor Ryan Gosling and director Nicolas Winding Refn just can’t stop collaborating, as they’re now planning to re-team once more for Only God Forgives.
Refn has been setting up the movie for a while now, and already has Kristin Scott Thomas aboard to co-star. Both the director and Gosling have been hinting that the pair will reunite for the film, but now they’ve gone and done the cinematic equivalent of running off to a chapel in Vegas to get hitched.
The film is a story of revenge focusing on a Thai police officer and a British gangster hiding out in Thailand, set against the worlds of gambling, boxing and prostitution. While Luke Evans had originally been in negotiations to snatch the lead role, he’s had to pull out because of a clash with his Hobbit shooting schedule.
Financing is in place for the film, which will kick off shooting in November ready for a release date in late 2012.
It’s unclear when Gosling and Refn will actually get round to the long-developing Logan’s Run, especially since the actor has to squeeze in both Warner Bros.’ crime drama **Gangster Squad **and Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines...
