Much of the details about Marvel's planned Disney+ series based on the Ironheart comics and its Riri Williams character are still shrouded in the company's usual veil of secrecy. But according to In The Heights' Anthony Ramos, who is part of the cast, Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is involved.

The comment, made to US TV series Extra at the Oscars, appeared to confirm rumours that Coogler would be a part of the series' creative team. "It’s incredible people, [head writer] Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler and just, like, a dope squad... you know, Dominique Thorne... and I just feel blessed and grateful," Ramos said.

That Coogler is involved isn't too much of a surprise – Thorne, who plays Williams (a young genius who creates the most complicated suit of armour since Tony Stark and seems destined to become his successor) will make her MCU debut in the director's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Quite what his duties will be is pure speculation at this juncture – Coogler is still working on the Panther sequel (due out on 11 November), and he has plans for at least one Disney+ series of his own based in Wakanda.

Ironheart, meanwhile, should kick off shooting in Atlanta this June.
