Taika Waititi's second directorial trip to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor: Love And Thunder, is increasingly crammed with big name actors in small roles, but the latest is one that the director and Team Marvel might have preferred to keep under wraps. Sadly, with Russell Crowe spotted out and about with other cast members, the cat is well and truly out of the bag, as Deadline has confirmed he's in the film.

As what exactly is a mystery for now, but we know he joins returning Thor franchise veterans Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Jaime Alexander and, for the first time since The Dark World, Natalie Portman (because her Jane Foster is a big part of the plot this time).

Also showing up are members of the Guardians Of The Galaxy cast, including Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan and more. Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth and Sam Neill return as the acting troupe we met in Thor: Ragnarok, joined this time by Melissa McCarthy. Christian Bale, meanwhile, is showing up as villain Gorr the God Butcher.

Waititi wrote the script with Jennifer Kaytin and we're promised more surprises, with the film currently due on 6 May next year.
