Roy Rogers, the clean-living cowboy whose name is synonymous with that of his horse, Trigger, died yesterday of congestive heart failure. He'd been released from hospital two weeks ago to spend his last days at home. He played cowboys for nearly 30 years from the 30's through to the 50's, in over 100 movies. His big movies included Billy the Kid Returns, King of the Cowboys, and Springtime in the Sierras. Trigger died in 1965, but was stuffed and mounted at the Roy Rogers Museum.
