After Hostel's storming first weekend at the US box office (it topped the chart with $20.1 million) a sequel is already being planned, with writer-director Eli Roth currently in talks to reprise both roles.
The first film (out here on April 21) sees three backpackers check into an Eastern European hostel – only for things to swiftly take a turn for the horrific. Expect pretty much more of the same in the sequel.
Lionsgate and Screen Gems are planning the sequel, and hope to have the same quick turnaround that they did on the Saw films, with a sequel well into production by the time the first film has finished its cinema run. It's not clear yet whether executive producer Quentin Tarantino will also return for the sequel.
