Things appear to have undergone a fairly rapid change in a few months for the thriller Unforgettable. Back in December, it was supposed to be Amma Asante’s new film, starring Kerry Washington and Kate Hudson. Now? Denise Di Novi is looking to make her directorial debut, featuring Rosario Dawson and Katherine Heigl in the lead roles{ =nofollow}.

The plot, however, remains the same, with Christina Hodson and David Leslie Johnson’s script finding Dawson’s character as a woman who is struggling to start a new life with her husband and his daughter. The biggest fly in the ointment of her happiness? The guy’s manipulative and potentially unstable ex-wife, to be played by Heigl. Cue a fight for the family and – we’re just guessing here – there will be blood.

Di Novi, who has been on board as a producer since the start, is now set to make her directorial debut with the film, so we’re wondering what happened behind the scenes to mandate this change. The cameras should be rolling next week in Los Angeles.

Dawson was most recently seen as Claire Temple on Daredevil and starred in Chris Rock’s Top Five. She’ll be heard in animated movies Henchmen and Ratchet And Clank, and will be bringing Claire to Marvel’s Jessica Jones, arriving on Netflix later this year. Heigl last worked on comedy drama Jenny’s Wedding and TV series State Of Affairs.
