Although Kevin Smith has talked about revisiting the Clerks characters (and the wider View-Askewniverse they inhabit), he hasn’t seemed to make much progress in making the film beyond tweeting last March that he’s started the script. Since then, horror movie Tusk has consumed his time when he’s not podcasting. Talking to Den Of Geek, however, Rosario Dawson – who played Becky in** Clerks II** – says she knows her character will be in the film.
What Dawson doesn’t know yet is when it’ll shoot. Given that Smith has said he wanted to tie the film into the 20th anniversary of Clerks (it actually premiered this month two decades ago, on January 22 at Sundance), he’d have to get it made this year.
Of course, an actor saying they’re confirmed for a film doesn’t mean it’ll actually get moving yet, and Smith hasn’t tweeted or otherwise written much about the film, which he was looking to lock the original cast in for once again. But if it points to the effervescent, dance-happy Becky back on our screens, it’s something to look forward to.
