Rosario Dawson - you know her: beautiful lady, was in Trance and Sin City, was once on Sesame Street - will soon be showing off another side of her formidable arsenal. According to Deadline, she'll be appearing in Chris Rock's so-far untitled romantic-comedy, a lead role that will see her playing opposite Rock himself.
The film is penned by Rock, his first screenplay since 2007’s** I Think I Love My Wife** (not including a thus-far unmade redo of David Mamet’s take on Kurosawa’s **High And Low). It’s billed as an edgy romantic-comedy set in New York’s showbiz world.
Rock lined up a deal with uber-producer Scott Rudin when he signed up for potty-mouthed Broadway show The Motherfucker With The Hat, and Rudin will oversee things with his long-time production partner Eli Bush when the shoot kicks off in the Big Apple this June. Media mogul Barry Diller is helping with the financing.
Things are taking shape nicely for Dawson, meanwhile. She has Atom Egoyan’s Queen Of The Night and a reprisal of her Sin City role in** A Dame To Die For **coming soon, *and *she can now hypnotise everyone into seeing them. Bonus.
