As a comic book obsessive herself, Rosario Dawson frequently gets to live the dream, appearing in a number of big projects including last year’s Daredevil. She – or her voice, at least – will be on for more big screen crime-fighting in The Lego Batman Movie, where she’s been hired to play Batgirl{
Will Arnett is back as the Dark Knight himself, with Michael Cera installed as Robin and Zach Galifianakis busy making a deal to play The Joker. Dawson will be the traditional Batgirl, Barbara Gordon (daughter of police commissioner James) who dons her alter ego to fight the bad guys alongside the other caped crusaders.
Chris McKay, animation supervisor/co-director and editor on the original Lego Movie that has spawned this sprawling, blocky universe, has taken over the big chair for this one, working from a script that was generated from within Chris Miller and Phil Lord’s Lego production outfit and has been written by Seth Grahame-Smith. The film will be out on February 10, 2017.
Dawson, who will be bringing her character Claire Temple to the other Marvel/Netflix series (especially Luke Cage, for which she has been confirmed for several episodes), will be seen in thriller Unforgettable and heard in Henchmen and Ratchet And Clank.
