Anna Karenina director Joe Wright is still looking for a young Peter Pan to fly away to Neverland for origin tale Pan. But he has managed to track down a Tiger Lily, with Rooney Mara in negotiations for the role{
Pan tells the early story about Peter, an orphan transported to Neverland, where he stops growing up and becomes the saviour of the natives in an ongoing rebellion against pirate forces. He and Hook end up forming an alliance to take Blackbeard down. But later, of course, the rifts in their friendship start to develop and the longstanding rivalry is born… And we all know how that story plays out.
Tiger Lily in J.M. Barrie’s work is a Native American princess of the tribe living on the Neverland island. What she’ll be doing in the new film – which has a script by **Ice Age: Continental Drift **writer Jason Fuchs – is anyone’s guess, though Mara’s casting suggests she won’t be a shrinking violet. Garrett Hedlund is on to play Hook, while Hugh Jackman will be Blackbeard. With Warner Bros. providing the backing, Pan is set to fly into cinemas on July 17, 2015.
