Ezra Miller's Barry Allen can relax – he has a father again. Even if the choice will be spending some portion of the Flash film behind bars. Director Andy Muschietti has recruited Ron Livingston to take over from Billy Crudup in the role of Henry Allen.
While the story for the film is still being hidden somewhere in the speed force, it's expected to focus on Barry's attempts to save his mother from being murdered, and, in doing so, prevent his father being framed and imprisoned for her death. His efforts end up ripping open the multiverse, resulting in different versions of characters popping up (such as Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne/Batman, though the actor recently seemed hesitant as to whether he'll actually appear – someone get Val Kilmer on the phone!) Ben Affleck will be playing Barry's dimension's Caped Crusader.
Maribel Verdú is aboard as Nora Allen, Barry's ill-fated mum, while Kiersey Clemons recently closed a deal to appear as journalist (and Barry's future wife) Iris West. It's a role she was hired for early on in the film's development, and actually played on screen in Zack Snyder's Justice League, albeit briefly.
Also aboard are Ian Loh as the young Barry, YouTuber Rudy Mancuso in an unknown role and, also in an undisclosed part, Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls represent!) And finally, we have Sasha Calle, who will bring Supergirl in to the DCEU.
Crudup, of course, played Henry in Justice League (both versions), but has had to drop out in the wake of pandemic delays moving the Flash to clash with his work on The Morning Show.
