Jason Bourne’s world is getting increasingly crowded for his next globe-trotting mission. Riz Ahmed has been hired for the new Bourne film.

Having made an impact in films such as Four Lions and last year’s Nightcrawler, Ahmed has been in demand of late, scoring s plum role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. For Bourne, his part isn’t entirely clear, though it appears he’s playing some sort of tech specialist at the CIA. According to Variety, he nearly wasn’t able to take the job at all thanks to schedule clashes with Rogue One, but everything has been ironed out.

With Paul Greengrass back directing (and this time co-writing with Christopher Rouse) and Matt Damon once again playing Bourne, the film’s story is being kept quiet, but will see our hero returning from his stint off the grid to a world full of financial collapse and a post-Edward Snowden rush of secrets being revealed. He’ll be visiting several locations as usual, this time including Tenerife (standing in for Greece), London, Budapest and Las Vegas. The cast also features Alicia Vikander, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel, Scott Shepherd and returning series veteran Julia Stiles.

Ahmed has a few movies on the way, including crime thriller City Of Tiny Lights and a drama called Blackbird. And, of course, his trip to the galaxy far, far away with Rogue One, leaving hyperspace on December 16 next year.
