Not content with developing both the Preacher TV series and their adult animation **Sausage Party, Seth Rogen and Adam Goldberg have now picked up another gig. This one's for Sony Pictures and producer Scott Rudin, and will see the guys penning an adaptation of the forthcoming non-fiction book Console Wars, about the '90s rivalry between Sega and Nintendo.

Blake Harris wrote the book, which will be published in August this year. Its full title is Console Wars: Sega, Nintendo And The Battle That Defined A Generation, and it deals with the corporate battles for market dominance over the arrivals of 16-bit consoles the SNES and the Sega Mega Drive. The saga more-or-less kicked off the $50bn industry we know today, and almost identical dramas are still played out with every new console generation, these days primarily between Sony and Microsoft.

The author will get an exec-producer credit on the film, and the deal at the moment is that Rogen and Goldberg will co-write and co-direct, as with This Is The End and the upcoming The Interview. It's possible that Rogen would also appear on screen, but there's no confirmation of that so far, nor any indication who he might play.

We'll next see Rogen in Nicholas Stoller's Neighbours on May 9. The Interview, starring James Franco, is out on December 5, and **Sausage Party **is currently in production for a release sometime in 2015.
