UPDATE: There's another twitpic to get your teeth into, courtesy of the D. Johnson Twitter feed, and this one is headwear-orientated. Here's the Hercules helmet, backlit spectacularly by a sun we're guessing his Rockness has winched into position specially.

If you thought Dwayne Johnson would leave his phone at home while shooting Hercules with director Brett Ratner, you don’t know The Rock. Given that tweets about movies as they’re made are becoming a common part of the promotional effort, he was always going to be offering glimpses behind the scenes. So it is with his latest effort, which provides another look at his Herc style (but still only from the back) and a small chunk of the set.

Our HERCULES set created by award winning designer Jean-Vincent Puzos w/ great detail. I sit in awe.. Hercules, based on the Radical Comics Thracian Wars run, finds the titular figure as a battle-weary warrior instead of the usual demi-god. Offered riches to train up the Thracian king’s army, the mercenary and his men accept the job, only to discover a dark element to the request, and a dangerous enemy lurking both within and without.

Soon, Hercules is questioning his own actions, and finding that the real battle will be for his soul…

Joining Johnson in the cast are Ian McShane, John Hurt, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Aksel Hennie, Tobias Santelmann, Rebecca Ferguson, Joe Anderson and Ingrid Bolso Berdal. Ratner is rolling the cameras in Budapest and Hercules will be out on July 25 next year.
