The Rock Rolls On

New action stars are in short supply, it would seem, and it can’t be too long before the likes of Arnie and Sly decide to hang up their boots. Fresh from his triumphant role in The Mummy Returns, Universal Pictures has spyed a potential future money-spinner in the shape of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Having just wrapped The Scorpion King for director Chuck Russell, The Rock has notched another two arrows to his bow. Hunting Bronze, an action-comedy that would feature The Rock as a bounty hunter on a mission to prevent a fugitive from being killed by a vengeful cop, and an as yet untitled project being written by LA Confidential and A Knight’s Tale scribe Brian Helgeland.
