Here's one to anticipate: Kiss Kiss Bang and Iron Man 3 collaborators Robert Downey Jr. and Shane Black are looking to reunite for a new film. In this case, they're reportedly tackling a character who has been brought to the screen several times before: Donald Westlake's Parker.
Black has written the new film to direct for Amazon Studios, and Downey Jr. will star as the career criminal Parker. Westlake's crafty, seemingly irredeemable character has inspired roles played by Lee Marvin (in 1967's Point Blank), Jim Brown (1968's The Split), Robert Duvall (in 1973's The Outfit), Peter Coyote (in 1983's Slayground), Mel Gibson (in 1999's Payback) and Jason Statham in 2013's Parker.
This is certainly a darker turn than some recent Downey Jr. work, but re-teaming with Black is certainly a good idea, especially given the disappointing likes of Dolittle in the wake of his MCU success.
