Last month, pesky scheduling issues meant that Will Poulter had to drop out of the Lord Of The Rings series that Amazon has been busy putting together. Fret not, though, as a replacement has been found, with Deadline reporting that Robert Aramayo is in place.

The trade site also reveals that Aramayo will be playing a young hero role, referred to as Beldor, which is the part Poulter had filled before his exit. Details remain sketchy around the plot, but the series will explore stories that take place in the Second Age of author JRR Tolkien's world, many years before the narrative covered in any of Peter Jackson's films.

With JD Payne, Patrick McKay and director JA Bayona as the key creative team, the writers have been busy working on season one, with a plan in place to take a several months-long break after shooting on the first two episodes to allow for the recently commissioned second season to be figured out so it all holds together narratively. The cast – as of yet unconfirmed by the streaming service – is reported to include Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle and Morfydd Clark. There's still no set date for the show to hit Amazon.

As for Aramayo, he has some fantasy cred already, having played the young Ned Stark on Game Of Thrones. He'll show up this year in The King's Man, due on 16 September.
