You might know comedian, actor, writer and producer Rob Delaney from acclaimed Channel 4 series Catastrophe or from his fun role as the enthusiastic/powerless hero Peter in Deadpool 2. Now Delaney (pictured above at a Deadpool 2 fan screening with an unidentified Canadian), is joining the cast of Jay Roach's Fox News film.
Roach's latest dive into real world politics and media focuses on the channel's former boss Roger Ailes, who held great sway over the place, but also fostered a culture of toxic masculinity, which was finally ended when women at the network rose up to call him out on his behaviour.
The cast for this one is bursting at the seams with solid performers including Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, Allison Janney, Kate McKinnon, John Lithgow and Alice Eve. Delaney will be one of Meghan Kelly's (Theron) producers.
The Big Short's Charles Randolph wrote the script and Roach has been filming for a while, but beyond a likely slot next year, it doesn't have a formal release date yet.
Delaney will be back on our screens in the next series of Catastrophe, which will arrive on Channel 4 before the year is out and then heads to Amazon. You might also enjoy his twitter feed, though be warned it pivots between heartwarming and surreally, filthily funny.
