The adaptation of Isaac Marion’s zombie romance novel Warm Bodies has just added another face to its cast, with Rob Corddry in final talks for a role.

X-Men: First Class’ Nicholas Hoult is starring as R, an existentially tormented zomboid who is at first content to be a flesh-noshing creature until he noshes on the brains of a particular victim and starts to feel the stirrings of his former humanity as his meal's memories become his own.

R falls for the man’s girlfriend (Teresa Palmer, last seen in I Am Number Four) and decides to protect her from his stumbling, groaning brethren. But their growing relationship isn’t helped by her father, the leader of one of the last human strongholds dedicated to fighting back the undead menace.

Corddry will be playing M, R's best friend among the zombies and the first to follow his lead. While the actor is usually known for his comedy performances such as Hot Tub Time Machine, we doubt he’ll have too much opportunity to be hilarious here, although M is the closest thing the book has to comic relief.

Jonathan Levine, whose cancer comedy 50/50 is hitting our screens in January, wrote the script and is directing the film, which will kick off shooting next month.
