Though it’s flying largely under the radar and won’t feature an epic budget, post-apocalyptic comedy Rapturepalooza is quietly hoovering up the sort of talented cast that make us think this could definitely be one to watch. And the latest laugh-grabbers getting caught in the movie’s filters? Rob Corddry, Thomas Lennon and Rob Heubel.
They’ll join leads Anna Kendrick and John Francis Daley, who are playing two sarcastic teens dealing with a world gone bonkers after a religious apocalypse. They set out to defeat the Antichrist, played by Hot Tub Time Machine’s Craig Robinson.
According to Variety, Corddry will be playing Daley’s father, a man who works as one of Robinson’s bodyguards, which should provide for plenty of awkward dysfunctional family tension. There’s no info yet on what the other two will be appearing as.
Corddry, of course, co-starred with Robinson in Time Machine and has Butter set to come out next. In a sort of comedy take on Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, he also worked on Cedar Rapids, which just so happened to feature Thomas Lennon in a small role. Lennon has Bad Teacher and What’s Your Number coming up. As for Heubel, he stole scenes in The Other Guys and has a role in The Descendants alongside George Clooney.
Ads director Paul Middleditch is switching to the big screen for the film, which was written by **Bill & Ted **scribe Chris Matheson. Lionsgate is backing the budget, which is set at less than $2 million.
