New parents often remark that the flipside to their wonderful new bundles of joy is the crap-laden, scream-filled nights and days that a baby can bring. But what if the child wasn’t just a whining little poo factory? What if it was pure demon spawn? That’s the problem Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb will have to deal with in Hell Baby.

Corddry and Bibb will play a couple expecting their first child who move into a fixer-upper house in New Orleans. There’s just one little problem with the place: it’s the most haunted locale in the city. Soon, they’re having trouble will a demonic infant and turn to the Vatican’s elite exorcism team to save them.

But don’t go thinking this is another scare-centric spin on The Omen or Rosemary’s Baby – it's actually a comedy cooked up by **Night At The Museum **writing duo Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon.

And this time, they’re not content to hand over the script to another director, accept the fat pay cheques and possibly crop up in small roles. Nope, this time the pair has decided to direct the thing themselves. As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, they’re also saving money by playing the Vatican team...

The pair plans to kick off shooting this April. And we’re excited to see what Lennon and Garant come up with now they have the chance to shepherd their own work on to the screen.

Even if you weren’t a fan of the writers’ scripts for the Museum films, don’t forget that they also sprang from comedy troupe The State, were the driving force behind Reno 911! (for which they also directed several episodes) and wrote both Taxi and The Pacifier. Actually, forget the last two. Of the two, Garant has more film megaphone experience, having directed both **Balls Of Fury **and the Reno 911! spin-off, Miami.

Corddry, who recently scored a role in Michael Bay’s Pain And Gain, will show up this year in Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World and next year’s Warm Bodies. Bibb, meanwhile, will face more straight-laced horror on supernatural flight film 7500. And Lennon and Garant have been hard at work adapting **Rentaghost into a film. **So the supernatural side must have rubbed off on them. Hope they realise that ectoplasm can leave nasty stains...
