Charlotte Riley has, until now, been known mostly for her TV work in the likes of The Take and DCI Banks. She’s just nabbed what could be her biggest break, however, scoring a role alongside Tom Cruise in Doug Liman’s All You Need Is Kill.
Liman and writers DW Harper, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Joby Harold have adapted Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s futuristic graphic novel, which finds a soldier battling aliens who is forced to relive his last day over and over.
As he goes through various training programs and fights the battle time and again, he starts to figure out how to be a better trooper.
Riley joins Emily Blunt in the brigade and both will be fighting alongside Cruise when Liman starts shooting this October at Leavesden Studios. As for Riley, she’s also got World Without End (the miniseries sequel to The Pillars Of The Earth) in the can along with horror thriller Entity.
