Blade Runner 2049 may have emulated the original film in its slightly disappointing box office returns, but that apparently hasn't been stopping Ridley Scott – already busy with approximately 763 other projects – from putting forth the notion that there is more to explore in the universe of replicants and those who run them down.
"I hope so," he tells Digital Spy. "I think there is another story. I've got another one ready to evolve and be developed, so there is certainly one to be done for sure."
This, of course, is the same Ridley Scott who has recently been doing the rounds talking about how 2049 was too long. So perhaps the next Runner will be more compact? Given the low returns on the latest film, we don't expect to see anything coming down the line particularly soon, but if Scott wants to make something, you know he'll try to get it done. After all, he did just manage to replace Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer in All The Money In The World, and re-work a completed film in a matter of weeks...
