Following hot on the heels of news that yes, Noomi Rapace will indeed be back as Elizabeth Shaw in Alien: Covenant, the latest set pic brings a first look at Danny McBride, conferring with director Ridley Scott on what we can assume is the Covenant's bridge. Head here for a closer look.

Eyebrows were raised when it was revealed that McBride, a man better known for the arrogant comedy stylings of Kenny Powers in Eastbound & Down, or the variety of lunkheads he's played on the big screen, would be part of the cast. But Scott clearly sees something in him, and it'll be interesting to see how he's used in Covenant.
The film, Scott's follow-up to 2012's Prometheus, finds the colony ship headed for a remote planet, a place that the crew initially thinks is an uncharted paradise but turns out to be... well, not that. And the only inhabitant appears synthetic life form David (Michael Fassbender), who claims to be the lone survivor of the Prometheus mission. Is he telling the truth? Probably not, given Rapace's apparent presence on the cast list – unless she's just there for flashback duty?
Scott has McBride, Katherine Waterston, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smolett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez and Billy Crudup aboard this one, and Alien: Covenant will land here on August 4 next year.
