Good news for those of you who thought that Rick Moranis might never grace our screens again (at least outside of the odd cameo etc): the star of the original Honey I Shrunk The Kids and its two immediate sequels has agreed to reprise his role as scientist Wayne Szalinski in the new sequel/semi-reboot Shrunk.

The new movie, which will star Josh Gad as the grown son of Szalinski's character, finds his spawn charting his own scientific path – and repeating his father's error by shrinking the kids.

Johnston is back directing again, while Todd Rosenberg is on script duty.

And according to Deadline, despite this being a Disney movie, it isn't headed immediately for Disney+'s digital world, but will instead arrive in cinemas before its inevitable switch to that great vault of movies and TV shows floating in the ether of the streaming service. Could this be a comeback for the man, the legend the Moranis? We don't expect him to come fully out of retirement, to be honest.
