Amazon certainly isn't being shy about splashing the cash when it comes to big event series, especially one boasting Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo among the main producers. That's certainly the case for Citadel, which has just added Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas to its cast.
If you thought a globe-totting show like Netflix's Sense8 was ambitious, Citadel appears ready to make that look like a local theatre production. The show will feature several series shot in different countries in native languages – the States, Mexico, Italy and India among them – that will link up in terms of storytelling. Beyond that, nothing has been announced about the plot, setting or characters.
The Russos are producing, while Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg will handle the writing and overseeing job on the Stateside show (which will star Madden and Jonas), and Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. are in charge of the Indian arm.
More will be revealed when all involved are ready, but Citadel would appear to be an intriguing show right from the start.
