As if Knives Out (and the sequel he's been putting together) wasn't enough of a conundrum for Rian Johnson, the writer/director is now overseeing a new mystery drama series. Natasha Lyonne will star in Poker Face for US streaming service Peacock.
Not based on the Lady Gaga song (unless there's something we don't know yet), the series is still under wraps, though Johnson did make a statement about it: "I’m very excited to dig into the type of fun, character-driven, case-of-the-week mystery goodness I grew up watching. It’s my happy place. Having Natasha as a partner in crime is a dream, and we’ve found the perfect home at Peacock."
While he's known for having directed the likes of Breaking Bad and Terriers, this marks the first time Johnson will craft a TV series. And rather than just lending his name as a producer, he'll serve as creator, writer, director and show-runner. And in case you're worried that this new gig will interrupt Lyonne's work on Russian Doll. she has time for both.
