Rhys Meyers Finds Shelter With Moore

And when we say ‘jolter’ in the above sub-head, please be informed that it’s a slapdash synonym for horror, coined purely for the sake of alliteration, and we won’t do it again.

Anyway, Jonathan Rhys Meyers – the only actor alive who could give fellow Irishman Cillian Murphy a run for his money in a Mad Stary Eyes contest – will be putting those piercing baby blues of his to good use in a horror movie, alongside Dame Julianne Moore.

The movie in question is called Shelter, and it starts shooting in March in Pittsburgh (which is suddenly a semi-hotbed of movie production – Kevin Smith’s Zack & Miri Make A Porno is currently shooting there), under the auspices of Swedish directors Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein, who directed the 2005 thriller, Storm.

Oh, and the screenplay is written by Michael Cooney, who penned Identity, and Nala Films are stumping up the cash.

Why are we telling you this and not the movie’s plot? Because that’s being kept under wraps for now – or it’s being sheltered, if you will. As and when more breaks, we’ll bring you the skinny. For now, though, we have to hope that it’s better than Moore’s previous foray into the genre. Or have you forgotten The Forgotten already? How apt.
