Okay, now we really are starting to think that Ryan Reynolds has either A) cloned himself or B) found a time-travelling DeLorean, because while he was on the “possible” list for CIA thriller Safe House, he’s now busy locking in a deal to make the movie, trying to find a way to cram it into his hectic schedule.

Yes, while the film was the subject of fevered interest from just about every notable young male star in Hollywood, it would seem that Reynolds is the man for the job, despite the demands on his time.

Assuming all the documents are in order, he’ll move from comedy The Change-Up with Jason Bateman, shooting this October, to Safe House early next year. Then it’s either Deadpool or dead cop as he’s figuring out whether to tackle Marvel’s merc with a mouth or deceased police officers in R.I.P.D. Oh, and at some point – most likely 2012 – we’re sure Warners will want him to slip back into Green Lantern’s CG togs for a possible sequel (assuming the first one does well).

**Safe House **will pair him with Denzel Washington, playing a low-level operative who is one of the few people to survive an attack on the titular CIA facility. Unfortunately for him, one of the others is a dangerous, violent criminal (Washington), who he must then keep alive as they race to another secure location, all the while under threat from even more nasty murderers who’d like nothing more than to see both of them pushing up daisies.

Snabba Cash's Daniel Espinosa is on board to direct the movie, which was written by lucky bastard former Us Weekly mag editor David Guggenheim.
