New Royal comedy from Universal

No, it’s nothing to do with King Arthur. Universal has bought the comedy pitch Once And Future King for Scott Marshall Smith (The Score, Men of Honor) to write.

The story concerns the panic that strikes the Royal family after it’s discovered that an Australian farmer is the rightful King of England. The story is based on genealogical research, later made into a documentary, which suggested that Edward IV was illegitimate, and therefore that the entire succession from that time on has rested with the wrong family. The true King of England is therefore Mike Hastings, 14th Earl of Loudoun, who lives in Jerilderie, New South Wales, with his family.
