Those who were unhappy with how the Milla Jovovich-starring Resident Evil franchise (very) loosely adapted the game are likely to be anticipating Welcome To Raccoon City, which aims to hew closer to the console's concept and characters. Find the first trailer for the new movie below.
In this film's story, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland... with great evil brewing below the surface. When that is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
With Johannes Roberts writing and directing, we'll have new versions of Claire Redfield (Kaya Scodelario) and brother Chris (Robbie Amell), plus Leon S. Kennedy (Avan Jogia), Albert Wesker (Tom Hopper), Richard Aiken (Chad Rook), Jill Valentine (Hannah John-Kamen), and Lisa Trevor (Marina Mazepa), the tragic victim of Umbrella Corporation experiments.
Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City will now unload infected madness on UK cinemas from 3 December, following a 24 November Stateside launch. Find some imagery from the movie right here.
