Resident Evil: Afterlife is on its way to Blu-ray, and the package will include this trailer for **Resident Evil: Damnation, the 3D sequel to 2008's Resident Evil: Degeneration.
This is the other Resi movie franchise, rendered entirely in CG animation and supposedly canonical with the games, unlike the much decried but extremely lucrative Paul WS Anderson / Milla Jovovich incarnations. Degeneration shifted almost 2 million DVDs worldwide (respectable, although far fewer than the games, the most recent of which sold in excess of 5 million units) and Damnation picks up where its predecessor left off, following the further adventures of Raccoon City copper Leon Kennedy.
Damnation certainly looks pretty, if pretty is the word, with the city burning merrily and an army of Lickers (not as filthy as they sound, at least not in a good way) on the rampage. Expect a short theatrical release in Japan, followed by a worldwide DVD and Blu-ray debut sometime next year. Afterlife hits the DVD shelves on January 10.
