Directing team Glenn Ficarra and John Requa have scored the job of directing what just might become Steve Carell's next film project.

The untitled script, which Warners bought from Bolt writer Dan Fogelman, features a father whose life is thrown into chaos as he tries to manage his relationship with his kids even as his marriage falls apart. Sounds high-lar-ious!

It's currently battling it out for Carell's precious spring hiatus, when he gets some spare time away from The Office to shoot films. The script is up against Mail Order Groom, which boasts a possible reunion with Date Night co-star Tina Fey.

Ficarra and Requa's last movie, gay crime romance comedy I Love You, Phillip Morris starring Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey, stirred up some buzz at various festivals but it's been stuck in release limbo for ages, and will finally see the projectionist's light in March.
