Back in March, it looked like Renny Harlin was ready to put the disappointment of The Legend Of Hercules behind him f_or crime action thriller **Fallen Cross_. It would seem he’s instead been lured by the prospect of working with Jackie Chan on the martial arts icon’s new comedy **Skiptrace.

Clearly looking to replicate what he got from the **Rush Hour **films, the new movie finds Chan as a Hong Kong detective who discovers that his niece (X-Men: Days Of Future Past’s Fan Bingbing) is in trouble with a crime lord. With regular legal channels closed to him, our hero must instead turn to a loudmouth American (Seann William Scott), who himself is having some issues with the mob, as the one person who can actually help.

Worryingly, although the script originated with Jay Longino it has since been through the word processors of many writers including Brian Gatewood, Alessandro Tanaka, Geoff Moore, David Posmentier and BenDavid Grabinski. We’re promised action between the Gobi desert and the Huangshan Mountains. Harlin is scheduled to kick off shooting on Skiptrace in August.
