We've been waiting a while to see anything from Westworld co-show-runner Lisa Joy's directorial debut Reminiscence, which stars Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Ferguson and Thandie Newton. Thanks to Jackman's twitter feed, we now have the first teaser for the movie.
Reminiscence is set in a future where the oceans have risen and much of the population of Miami has switched to a nocturnal schedule. This is also a world where people such as Jackman's Nick Bannister – who Joy describes as a "PI of the mind" – uses technology to dig into people's memories in order to help them with problems. When a mysterious woman (Ferguson) arrives in his office seeking help with lost keys, the stage is set for an epic romance, one cut short when she vanishes.
It all feels very Christopher Nolan-y so far, which might not be a huge surprise, since Joy is Nolan's sister-in-law. A longer trailer will surely follow soon, and the movie itself is scheduled to land in international cinemas on 25 August, followed by a now standard US release for Warners in cinemas and on HBO Max on 3 September.
