If you were lucky enough to see Juno at the London Film Festival or one of the other worldwide festivals or some other mysterious way, you will know that it is already a contender for Best Comedy of 2008 (when it will be released). Which makes it very good news that its director Jason Reitman (son of Ivan) is set to produce Jennifer's Body.

Jennifer's Body is the next screenplay by Diablo Cody, who wrote Juno, the story of a teenage girl (Ellen Page) giving up her unplanned baby for adoption in the most hilarious, non-mawkish way you can imagine.

Jennifer's Body is something of a leap from Juno, being, as it is, a comedy-horror that mixes teen movie with demonic possession cannibalism. If you've heard Cody's dialogue and wry sensibility then you'll know that should be a brilliant premise, rather than some schlock to be cranked out for Halloween.

The film will star Megan Fox (Transformers) as the cheerleader who's taken over by a demon and starts eating the local boys, but not really in the sexy way they might have hoped. That's why the main news pic is Fox and not Reitman. He's funny and brilliant, but she's more purdy.
