Following his big breakout with Bridgerton, Regé-Jean Page has been increasingly in demand, joining Dungeons And Dragons and the Russo brothers' The Gray Man. He's moving fully into leading man status with a potential franchise, as Paramount has hired the actor to star as Simon Templar in The Saint.

Leslie Charteris' character has most famously been brought to life on TV by Roger Moore, while the 1997 film take starred Val Kilmer. The Robin Hood-style thief and criminal for hire takes down dodgy politicians and other nefarious wrongdoers.

Playwright, actor and current artistic director of The Young Vic Kwame Kwei-Armah is aboard to write the script for the movie, though there's no director currently attached. The film was previously in development with Chris Pine starring and Dexter Fletcher directing. Pine is clearly no longer involved, but Fletcher's status is cloudier – he's currently busy shooting The Offer, a miniseries about the making of The Godfather for the studio, and other film jobs may have gotten in the way.
