Ecosse Films have just announced a host of new projects to add to a number of star vehicles currently in production. The Scottish film company, which is currently filming Charlotte Gray in the UK with Cate Blanchett in the lead role, has a few plum parts up for grabs over the next year. Charlie - a film about Bonny Prince Charlie - which is being written by Ronan Bennett, the writer behind FilmFour's upcoming Lucky Break, already has an A-list star attached in the form of Jude Law. But there's plenty more where that came from; other projects include Henry & Anne - which dramatises the marriage of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, plus two more modern films - Helen's Boy which will star Judi Dench and Stickshaker - a thriller based on the novel by Philip Kerr. It's been a number of years since anyone portrayed King Henry on the big screen - Keith Michell in the 1973 version of The Merry Wives of Windsor is the last good example. Empire Online has its own idea of who would make a good Henry Tudor - our vote goes for David Morrissey, currently to be seen playing a German Captain in Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
