Having cast one veteran of The Wire in Michael B. Jordan, Fantastic Four reboot director Josh Trank is letting his gritty crime drama flag fly once more, adding fellow former fictional Detroit resident Reg E. Cathey as his father{ =nofollow}.

Cathey, who spent several seasons playing Norman Wilson on the critically adored HBO series, is set to play Dr. Storm, dad to both Jordan’s Johnny and Kate Mara’s Sue Storm. He has prior form with both his cinematic progeny, since he plays Freddy in House Of Cards, which features Mara as journalist Zoe Barnes (the two haven't shared the screen there, however). As for how Dr. Storm will fit into the plot, that's anyone's guess, since Trank and co. are keeping their plans invisible for now. There's been speculation online that his experiments might play a role in giving the quartet their superpowers, but that remains to be seen.

The Fantastic Four also boasts Miles Teller as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Tobey Kebbell as Dr. Doom and the recently announced Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder - who in the comics worked for Dr Storm and was fired. With a script that has seen work from Jeremy Slater, T.S, Nowlin and Simon Kinberg, the film is shooting now, aiming for a June 18, 2015 release date over here.
