Proving that the Nancy Meyers DNA (not to mention Charles Shyer) can help someone launch their own directorial career, daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer is kicking off with Home Again, which she also wrote, and stars Reese Witherspoon. The first trailer is below.
Witherspoon plays Alice Kinney, a woman who is facing starting over at the age of 40 as a single mother with two young daughters. After separating from her husband (Michael Sheen), she decides to move back to Los Angeles to chart a new path.
But while cutting loose on her birthday, she meets three younger male aspiring filmmakers, played by Nat Wolff, Pico Alexander and Jon Rudnitsky, who need a place to live. She offers her guest house, and soon the unlikely new family is helping Alice re-discover her life – even if not all the decisions are for the best...
With Candice Bergen, Reid Scott and Lake Bell also in the cast, Home Again is due in UK cinemas on 29 September.
