Red Band Trailer For V/H/S Online

What next for the found footage genre? Why, found footage of people watching found footage of course! That's the set-up for the retro-throwback anthology horror V/H/S, and you can catch some glimpses of what the protagonists watched in this new red band trailer, just online.

The clip gives us some of the bridging story, about a gang breaking into a house to steal a single VHS tape, who then have to trawl the collection within to actually find the one they need. That process sees them subjecting themselves to mysterious home movies of masked killers, vivisection, woodland scares (possibly leading to bad happenings in a hot spring), paranormal activity and a vampire babe. Lots of people cry, "What the fuck?"

If all of those seem like standard scenarios, however, expect clever riffs on the tropes given the calibre of the filmmakers involved. The various segments are directed by Ti West (House Of The Devil, The Innkeepers), Adam Wingard and Simon Barret (A Horrible Way To Die), David Bruckner (The Signal), Joe Swanberg (Silver Bullets), Glenn McQuaid (I Sell The Dead) and the cult online collective Radio Silence.

The film is produced by the guys at Bloody Disgusting, and has been picking up some positive buzz at various festivals. It gets released to VOD at the end of August and a limited US theatrical run in October, but there's no sign of a UK release date yet.
