You knew that Jim Jarmusch wouldn't deliver your obvious, average zombie movie, and indeed he's gone full quirk with The Dead Don't Die, which has a new trailer online. This latest effort is loaded with swearing and blood, so be prepared...
Set in the sleepy burb of Centerville, the story essentially sees the place suddenly overrun by the walking dead, creatures A) craving flesh and B) obsessed with whatever drove them in real life – tennis, jogging, or chardonnay in the case of Carol Kane's character.
Into this mess wade cops Bill Murray, Adam Driver and Chloë Sevigny, who have to deal with this big problem for the small town. From the looks of the film, it's mostly an excuse for Jarmusch to play on zombie themes while a great ensemble brings the comedy. Which means we have the likes of Iggy Pop and Tom Waits on the undead side, and Tilda Swinton is around to help kill them as a mortician who really knows how to wield a Samurai sword.
The Dead Don't Die will be in US cinemas on 14 June, and then stumbles over to us on 12 July.
