As the curtains slowly rise on musical biopic The Greatest Showman – which will star Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum – the cast is starting to take shape. The latest recruit is Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation's Rebecca Ferguson, who will play real-life 19th century opera singer Jenny Lind.

Showman, which Michael Gracey is directing based off of Michael Arndt's script, will trace Barnum's rise from the variety circuit to co-founding the three-ring Barnum & Bailey Circus that earned him worldwide fame. In his earlier years, he worked as an impresario, shepherding tours for Lind and Tom Thumb.

Ferguson joins a cast that also includes Zac Efron, Michelle Williams and Zendaya, with Justin Paul and Benj Pasek busy writing the songs for the film, which will kick off shooting this autumn. Next up, Ferguson will be seen in thriller The Girl On The Train (due here October 5) and has worked on sci-fi thriller Life and Thomas Alfredson's crime drama The Snowman.
