You Really Can’t Escape Death

New Line greenlight yet another Final Destination

There are two things that are inevitable in this life: death and taxes (oh, and the tabloids wittering on about David Beckham, but that's another story). But as far as Hollywood is concerned, movies about taxes aren't exactly riveting, so death it is. New Line, in particular, have cracked onto a winning formula with their Final Destination franchise, in which a bunch of teenagers cheat Death, only to find that the bugger won't let them go, picking them off one by one in increasingly grisly ways. And now, illustrating the true intractability of the Grim Reaper, the franchise is back back back! Final Destination 3 was announced today, and what's more, the series' creators, Glen Morgan and James Wong (the freaky duo who wrote and directed many of the best X-Files episodes) will be back to oversee Death's gruesome machinations. No details are available on the nature of the linking accident that will bond our heroes together, but Wong and Morgan will have go some to top the terrifying plane crash of the original, and the giddily choreographed slapstick of the sequel's amazing motorway pile-up. We're saying a group of skiers slamming into an enormous tree should do the trick
