While Asa Butterfield usually spends his Netflix time figuring out sexual and relationship dilemmas on Sex Education, his new film for the streaming service has slightly more lethal matters on its mind. With Iola Evans starring, the trailer for Choose Or Die has crept online to mess with reality.
Co-writer/director Toby Meakins' movie, formerly called Curs>r, has Evans as broke college dropout Kayla who, upon learning of an unclaimed $125,000 prize, decides to play an obscure, 1980s survival computer game.
But the game curses her, and she’s faced with dangerous choices and reality-warping challenges. After a series of unexpectedly terrifying moments, she realizes she’s no longer playing for the money, but for her life and so teams up with her friend Isaac (Butterfield). The game locks her into an inescapable cycle of mind-bending horror. Stopping is not an option. It’s choose or die!
Eddie Marsan, Angela Griffin, Kate Fleetwood and horror legend Robert Englund are in the cast for this one, which boasts The Prodigy's Liam Howlett on score duty (cue us shouting "come play my game" from 'Exhale'...)
Choose Or Die will be offering terrible consequences and a Jumanji/Saw crossover vibe from 15 April on Netflix.
