Sam Huntington joins The Daily Planet

You know, things get busy here around Empire towers. With certain freeloading members of the team away on a super-special set visit, and others sneaking off to supernatural preview screenings, it's been pretty hectic. Hence we sort of forgot to publish this story, written yesterday. Sorry. But here it is anyway. The latest (ahem) news on the very-soon-to-be-juggernaut that is Bryan Singer's Superman is the casting of Sam Huntington as Jimmy Olsen, cub news photographer at The Daily Planet. Perhaps it was something in Huntington's performances in Jungle 2 Jungle (he was the deeply annoying jungle boy), Detroit Rock City or Not Another Teen Movie that caught his newest director's attention, or maybe it was just his ability to say "golly" better than any of the competition; whatever the reason, he's got the gig, and will be joining confirmed castmates Kate Bosworth, Hugh Laurie, Kevin Spacey, James Marsden, and in the role of the Man Of Steel himself, Brandon Routh. Probably most famous for being one of the characters close to Clark Kent / Superman who conveniently never guess the superhero's split identity, it will be interesting to how Singer and Huntington play this angle. With a track record thus far for keeping campness to a minimum
