Barely taking a moment to breathe between projects, Robert Rodriguez has switched from working on Machete Kills to his other big sequel, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which he’s currently co-directing with Sin overlord Frank Miller. According to The Playlist’s sources, they’ve cast Ray Liotta, Juno Temple and Jeremy Piven in the film.
The exact nature of the three new additions’ roles hasn’t been specified, but it seems safe to say that they’ll be playing various shady characters, given the source material.
They’re joining returning stars Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson and Jaime King whose numbers are bolstered by various new faces, some acting as replacements for actors from the first movie. Dennis Haysbert is stepping into the late Michael Clarke Duncan’s clodhoppers as Manute, Josh Brolin is playing Dwight (as assayed in the original by Clive Owen) and Jamie Chung is the new Miho. Oh, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who is playing a completely new (as in, he’s not even in the graphic novels) man called Johnny.
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For hits US screens on October 4, but doesn’t have a UK date just yet.
